  • Can I fly ‘RETRO’ planes on modern routes?

    YES,

it is possible to use a RETRO aircraft on modern routes as an alternative, as long as the same WTC class is taken into account.

  • Academy @ DLH Virtual

Dear Pilots, both, newbies and sim-professionals alike,

like we said before, our goal is not only to provide you guys with an unmatched flying experience, but we also aim to transform this hobby into a serious learning curve. And what would be better than to have the chance almost every Sunday to attend dedicated trainings related to sim-flying in our DLH Academy? Well, then here we go: In those classes, we shed some light in topics like

    • VFR navigation and -charts,
    • the difference between circling- and visual approach,
    • how to fly North Atlantic Tracks (NAT),
    • what to do (and not to do) and how to communicate during flying online (VATSIM or IVAO)
    • read and understand an ICAO flight plan
    • the difference between TAF and METAR

The classes will be announced towards the end of each month for the following one, they will be held alternately in English and German, we meet every Sunday around 6 pm German time (in summer 1600z, in winter 1700z) in the lounge of our disocrd server. For more details / information, please feel free to leave a respective post in the academy chat, also on Discord.

  • ACARS Software

Please note, that we only accept Windows-OS user due to none available ACARS software.

We offer our own ACARS software called simCARS, it supports older and all newer simulators. Our pilot’s find correspondending Download Links in Download Section of the Cloud Pilot Center.

  • Discord Server

Discord Server and Announcements in Cloud Pilot Center are the main communiaction channels for announcements and the community. If you want to stay up-to-date we highly recommend to join the discord server, but it’s not a must.

Join with invitation link after Login in our Cloud Pilot Center. First of all you have to change your Server Nickname to your DLH-ID & your Name (DLH1234 | *firstname*).

Save changes, that’s all. A staff member will change your status as soon as possible. After that you can see all our channels. Please be patient when you don´t get instant access.

To mute any channel: just click on the channel with the right mouse key and select Mute Channel.

When you want to go offline, just close the app, program, or webpage. Don´t leave the server.

  • Registration as a pilot

If you decide to registrate, you need to enter the basic information. Your registration has to be accepted, please be a little bit patient.

If you re-registrate after deletion due to any reason and you want that we restore your old account, don’t forget to copy your old DLH-ID into the field “link to previous flight hours”!

  • Online or Offline Flyer?

It’s up to you! Even if we are a partner airline of VATSIM and IVAO, it doesn’t mean that you have to fly online. It’s your choice to fly online or not.

  • Ranking System

We kind of have a ranking system, but that does not have anything to do with the category of planes. You can fly whatever you want according to our database.

  • What’s a Virtual Airline?

The Virtual Airline simulates airline flight operations using flight simulators. You can register as a pilot and fly flights based on flight schedules & plans, which are similar to real air traffic. Virtual airlines are usually fictional and have no connection to real airlines. In a virtual airline, the virtual pilot can deepen his knowledge and document the routes he has flown on the computer. The registration of completed flights is done via a Pirep system. The VA use one of the various programs (ACARS-Software) available in the freeware area or a self-programmed one. These connect a flight log system for the simulator with an online database, whereby the recorded data can be automatically collected and transmitted to the VA.

At DLH Virtual the focus is on the flying community, open cooperation between pilots, helping each other with a common hobby, exchanging experiences and to provide our pilots the best virtual flight simulation experience.

Our mission is to become the best virtual airline possible. We realise to do so, staff and pilots must work together, hand in hand as a team and this is what we aim to do at DLH Virtual. We organise shortterm Challenges and longer Tours in order to make flying with us an enjoyable experience yet transform this hobby into a serious learning curve as well. Especially on our tours you will discover wonderful places around the world away from the regular flight schedule. If you search for alternatives sometimes, you are at the right place. We also offer VFR-Tours and Business Jet-Tours.

Earn Special Awards for completing those Challenges, Tours and your progress as a DLH Virtual Pilot which are visible in your pilot profile forever.

We would be happy to welcome you onboard!

  • What is SimCARS?

SimCARS is our self developed ACARS Solution. It can be simple and easy downloaded from Microsoft Store.

    SimCARS supports MSFS 2020 + 2024, P3D v4 or newer and now in Beta state X-Plane 11 / 12.

For older simulators like FSX, P3Dv3 and older you need to activate the Retro Server feature. Check here how to do it (visible for registrated pilots only)

    Some main-features are:

    • see your profile and pireps
    • book your flights in list or map
    • simbrief integration
    • interactive airline map
    • DLH virtual AirlineChat
    • and many more

SimCARS is available in our Downloads Center

  • Do you have a rank system?

    We kind of have.

When you open the cloud pilots center, on the top of the page it says : Current Rank.
You might have the rank : Cruise relief pilot or first officer.

Those ranks however have nothing to do with the category of planes you may fly. When you join DLH, you can fly whatever flight there is in our database.
You just signed up, have done your welcome flight and want to fly longhaul ? No problem!

  • Do I have to fly at the given times?

When you’re booking a flight you will see a Departure time and arrival time.

Those are the times that the real flight (let’s say DLH456 10:25 – 13:20) uses.

You however can fly whenever you want. If a flight is scheduled for e.g. 1 am, you can still fly it at 3pm.

  • Which aircrafts can I fly?

    • DLH Virtual offers you a wide variety of aircrafts
    • Some of you prefer to fly their payware aircrafts on most of the routes
    • You can use your payware aircrafts according our Category System
    • You may change aircrafts within the SAME CATEGORY according to our Allowed equal Aircrafts list:
      https://wiki.dlhvirtual.de/operation/allowed-equal-aircrafts/
  • Which Airlines are available?

DLHv offers all Airlines where Lufthansa holds 100% Shares.

Aerologic, Air Dolomiti, Austrian, Brussels, Discover Airlines, Edelweiss, Eurowings, Lufthansa, Lufthansa Cargo & Swiss

  • Do you offer Charter Flights?

    • Yes Charter Flights are available
    • As soon as you got 50 Flight Hours this module is opened for you
    • Then every pilot can create 10 charters per month
    • You can find it in our Cloud Pilot Center -> Flight Operations -> Charter a Flight
      https://www.dlhvirtual.de/crew/index.php/Charter
    • In addition it is also possible to purchase a maximum of 5 additional charters per month
      The price for the additional charters is staggered as follows: 11th charter 1.500$ // 12th charter 2.000$ // 13th charter 3.000$ // 14th charter 5.000$ // 15th charter 8.000$
The additional charter flights purchased will be automatically deleted on the 1st of the following month, together with the 10 free charters
    • All created charter flights can be flown by all pilots. So you can also book and fly any charter which was created by another pilot.
  • Route of the month

Our Route of the month starts every 15th of the month at 18z (at the latest) and will end on the 14th of the following month at 20z (latest arrival).

    The rules:
    –  You can use every scheduled (no charter !) flight for our Route of the month.
    –  You can fly our Route of the month in both direction.
    –  There will be one short or medium route and one longhaul route for every month.
    –  For every flight we´ll give double hours. So you can do as many flights of our ROM as you like.
    –  Double hours will be given in transfer hours.
    –  Please comment your PIREP (before sending it) with: Route of the month or ROM, otherwise you won´t get the double hours.
    –  For manual Pireps double hours can only be given, if a complete log or a Vatsim/IVAO/Volanta link of the flight can be provided.
    –  If there is not already a scheduled flight in our database we´ll schedule ROM flights for you to use.
    –  All flights (except flights with ROM flight numbers) can also be operated as Adv. Ops. flights. The pilot needs to comment the Pirep in accordance with our Adv. Ops. Regulations.
    –  Useable aircrafts for EBBR-LDZD-EBBR A320 or equal and for EDDM-SBGR-EDDM A350 or equal.
    –  Please check here for any substitution:  https://wiki.dlhvirtual.de/operation/allowed-equal-aircrafts/
  • Pilot’s Holidays

    Why holidays?

We expect our pilots to complete at least one flight within 30 days. If you’re unable to meet this requirement sometimes, you are free to request holiday time to protect your account from deletion due to inactivity. Don’t worry, we will contact you multiple times before any account is deleted. Therefore, please make sure that your email address is correct during registration / in your pilot profile.

    How many do I get?

DLH Virtual credit every pilot 120 days of Holiday per year. For each month you are joining later in a year 10 days are subtracted.

i.E. you are joining in March you only get 100 days credited

  • What happens when my account is deleted?

Before we delete your account we try to get in contact with you several times to find a solution that is not resulting in deleting your account.

However if your account gets deleted because of any reason you won’t have the ability to sign in to your account and use the Cloud Pilots Center of DLH Virtual anymore.

Can I get my hours and awards back?
    Yes you can !
Simply upon your re-registration fill in your old DLH Pilot-ID into the field “link to previous flight hours”
If you forgot to do this, you can still open a Helpddesk Ticket where you request to change your DLH ID back to your old one to get previous hours and awards. In the Ticket please mention also your old & new ID. The HR Management will take care of it. – here: DLH Helpdesk
  • Transfer flight hours from other VA´s or online networks

Yes, it’s possibe. We give a maximum of 250 transfer hours.

To request transfer hours from other VA´s or Online networks like VATSIM, IVAO, Volanta and so on please open a helpdesk ticket here: DLH Helpdesk

    • For transfer hours from your Volanta account your Volanta user name must be stored in your DLH pilot profile
    • For transfer hours from online networks please note that we can only consider active Vatsim / IVAO-Accounts.

When transferring hours from an online network or from Volanta, the hours that have already been flown with us will be deducted from the total number of hours to be transferred if the hours on the online network/Volanta are less than the sum of the hours flown with us plus 250. This is to prevent hours flown with us from being counted twice afterwards.

  • Your Hub assignment after registration

After successful registration, you will be assigned to one of our hubs. This assignment is purely for administrative purposes for our staff.

Being assigned to a hub does not impose any restrictions on you. You can fly from any airport, regardless of your hub assignment.

For this reason, it is unfortunately not possible to change your hub assignment afterwards.

Your Hub Manager for your assigned Hub is responsible for all your questions and concerns.
